Lois offers twenty years experience in the business and jewelry industries. Her office is located in Cary, NC and her state of the art portable gem lab can transport to any location in order to test stones, metals, measure and document detailed specifications along with colored digital pictures completing a professional and comprehensive appraisal. She is a member of The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, a professional organization committed to fostering excellence and ethics in the industry.

Beware of paying high prices to have your appraisal written by someone who is not a gemologist. Most insurance companies, attorneys and banks require that appraisals be written by a graduate gemologist. Always ask to see proof of their GIA certificate stating that they are either a Gemologist or Graduate Gemologist. Don't be fooled by false titles or the misuse of the letters GIA as part of a title. A gemologist is trained to grade and identify diamonds, colored stones and synthetics which are integral to accurate evaluations. Appraisals should be written with detailed measurements and weights along with descriptions and statements describing the gemstones and metals as well as the equipment and tests used to identify them.
