One
of my services is to provide estate sales of previously owned
fine jewelry. If you own or inherit pieces that are considered
fine quality, I would be happy to help you sell your pieces
in a fine jewelry store that would take in your jewelry on consignment
at a 'fair market value'.
Fair Market Value - is the market
value for pieces that will be sold in the secondary market.
As an independent appraiser, I would assign the FMV to your
piece of jewelry. The seller agrees the FMV or the guaranteed
price he/she will receive when the piece sells. The jewelry
is then taken to an independent retail store with a history
of fine jewelry and high integrity. The person receives their
guaranteed price when the piece sells.
Estate jewelry sales are becoming
more and more popular as original vintage jewelry consisting
of Old European and Old Mine Cut diamonds set in platinum and
have a unique charm and character that is difficult to reproduce.
Many Art Deco and Edwardian pieces were made by high quality
craftsman of the 1910-1930's using period geometric of filigree
design with excellent execution of metal. These pieces are sought
after by a certain market and clientele.
